Conference on the petroleum in Africa from 24 till 26 April 2006

The third forum on "the petroleum in Africa", in which Madagascar participated, was held in London from 24 till 26 April 2006.

Numerous countries were represented and all the big world oil companies had sent delegations. It is a key conference for the new currents of thought, the promotion of new companies and it is considered as a shop window for the potentialities concerning fuels and gas in Africa.

Independent operators and representatives of the governments of the various countries participated in this strategic forum during which were examined in detail the directions, the projects, the politics and the future of the oil sector in Africa.

During this forum the problems of demarcations for the various countries were also evoked including for Madagascar. An international expert gave his point of view onto this problem and so proposed that every country takes effective measures to avoid possible conflicts.

The forum ended with a dinner during which an invited speaker, in this particular case Mister Razaka Elysé, general manager of the OMNIS, explained in detail the beauty of Madagascar, his natural resources including the oil resources. The statement drew all the attention of the participants.

In most people's opinion, Madagascar is at present in a development process. Pictures
