office.

Conference on the petroleum in Africa from 24 till
26 April 2006
The third forum on "the petroleum in Africa", in
which Madagascar participated, was held in London
from 24 till 26 April 2006.
Numerous
countries were represented and all the big world oil
companies had sent delegations. It is a key
conference for the new currents of thought, the
promotion of new companies and it is considered as a
shop window for the potentialities concerning fuels
and gas in Africa..

Scientific forum in the ZSL (Zoology Society of
London) of March 16th, 2006 :
A scientific forum on the biodiversity in Madagascar
was organized in the ZSL. Eminent personalities
working in Madagascar were also invited of what Mrs
Patricia Wright of the Duke University (USA),
founder of the Reserve of Ranomafana. She exposed
her research program in Madagascar, the efforts led
to help Madagascar to protect the unique wealth of
the big island. She made share the role of the
Laboratory Valbio to Ranomafana, a lab allowing the
training and the exchange of experiments between the
foreigners and the Malagasy working within the
framework of the environment. Besides, scientists
whom researches concern the animal and vegetable
species endangered in Madagascar also presented
their results. About 250 persons were present
showing the interest carrying by the English people
for the scientific questions concerning the
environment in Madagascar. During October 2006 a
campaign for the conservation of the biodiversity in
Madagascar, in which will participate 34 countries,
will be launched.

Courtesy visits
Numerous courtesy visits were made including that
with the doyen of the UA, its Excellence Sir
Ambassador of Cameroon, Samuel LIBOCK MBEL, as well
as with the doyen of the diplomatic corps in London,
its Excellence Sir Ambassador of Kowait, Khaled Al
DUWAISAN. During these visits, their Excellences
were able to make us share their experiences in
London since their arrival in the British capital,
that is a little more than 10 years for each of
them.

Monthly meeting: SADC and UA (African Union)
Meetings were also organized with the
Ambassadors of the countries members of the
SADC and the African Union. It emerges from
it, unanimously, that the constitution of a
regional group as the SADC for example,
constitutes a force for any action of
promotion as well as for the programs of
activities. The membership in such a
regional group strengthens the weight of
every country. |
