Madagascar has much
economic, natural and human potential. With a
surface of 580,000 km2 and a diversified
climate many agricultural activities are feasible
The subsoil is very rich and the halieutic resources
are exceptional.
The population is young, intelligent and the wages
are competitive. One of the main advantages is an
HIV rate among weakest (1.7 %) of sub-Saharan
Africa. The workforce is numerous, available and
permanent.
All these dies of opportunities can have
infrastructures represented by a road network of
almost 30,000 kilometres, a rail network of 870
kilometres, a domestic
aerial network including 12 airports of which 5
are international airports, 6 international ports
and 12 costing ports. The traditional mail service (PAOSITRA
MALAGASY) is supplemented by international firms
such as
UPS,
TNT
and
DHL.
The implementation
of the Public-Private partnership within the
framework of the construction and the management of
heavy infrastructures in fact makes an engineering
sector of opportunities for the local and foreign
investors.
2- Facilitator of
investments
In an effort leading
to attract the foreigner investors the Malagasy
Government set up a
Guichet Unique
des Investissements et du Développement des Entreprises (GUIDE) in order to
facilitate the steps of the investors in Madagascar.
Moreover Madagascar creates inciting legal and tax
aspects.
The 'Grande Ile' is
adherent at the 'Agence pour l'Assurance du Commerce
en Afrique' (African Trade Insurance Agency). It
also profits from the advantages related to its
participation in international payments:
MIGA
(Multilateral Agency of Guarantee of Investments),
CIRDI
(International Center for the payment of Different
relating to the Investments between States and
outsiders).
